The Problem

Older adults need local, trusted support

Small UK care and community support businesses lack affordable software to manage support workers, client bookings, invoicing, and finance reporting. Existing tools are expensive, generic, or built for large NHS-scale operations — not a local sole-trader or small team.

ElderLink UI — booking and operations

The Solution

A purpose-built care management platform

ElderLink is designed as a full-stack web platform for the UK care and community support sector — from booking a support visit to generating and emailing a PDF invoice to a client's family.

  1. Authentication and role management (Admin, Worker, Client)
  2. Booking system — schedule and manage support visits
  3. Worker management — profiles, availability, assignment
  4. Invoice generation — PDF invoices via ReportLab
  5. Email invoice delivery — SMTP/Outlook integration
  6. Finance dashboard — revenue analytics with charts
  7. Accounts receivable tracking and payment status
  8. Automated reminder emails for outstanding invoices

Stack

Full-stack, production-ready architecture

Frontend built in Next.js with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, with deployment target Vercel. Backend is FastAPI (Python) with SQLAlchemy ORM. PDF generation via ReportLab, email via SMTP/Outlook, charts via Recharts. JWT authentication throughout.

Status

Functional in development — deployment in progress

Core features are implemented and tested in development. The platform is being prepared for real-world deployment in the UK care and community support sector.
